Reiki for horses

REIKI is a safe, gentle hands on healing technique which uses spiritual energy to treat physical ailments without using pressure, manipulation or massage. However it is more than a physical therapy. It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonizing all aspects of the person – body, mind, emotions and spirit – and it can also be used to encourage personal and spiritual awareness and growth.

The Japanese word Reiki (pronounced Ray Kee) is usually translated as ‘Universal Life Force Energy’ or ‘God-directed Life-force Energy’ or ‘Spiritual Energy’.’ (’Reiki for Life’ by Penelope Quest)

Often ill health is a physical symptom of an emotional or psychological problem. The most common cause of illness is stress. Reiki will work on a deeper level to address the root cause of the problem. It may be that lifestyle changes are necessary to effect true healing.

During a treatment you can expect to feel extremely relaxed. Immediately afterwards you may feel energized.

Reiki energy helps the body’s own healing mechanisms to work more efficiently.

You may have a Reiki treatment as often as you like. Three treatments in fairly close succession is a good way to ‘kick start’ the healing process.

Reiki can be successfully used with most animals for general wellbeing or to support any treatment being given by a Vet. (with permission)

REIKI ATTUNEMENTS

As a Reiki Master / Teacher I am qualified to teach others how to use REIKI. The process is not so much 'taught' as passed from Master to Student by a process called an 'Attunement'.

I liken doing Reiki as being like a kettle, it has a switch and a plug, but unless you plug the kettle into the power source the switch will do nothing. Once you plug it in you can switch it on and off at will. Having a Reiki Attunement is like being plugged into the power source.

Everyone is able to transfer Reiki Energy, it just requires that the channels through the Crown and Palm Chakras are opened.

This is done during a one day Reiki course.

There are 3 levels of Reiki plus the teacher qualification.

First Degree or Reiki Level 1 is the starting point. After having this attunement you will be able to transfer the Reiki energy. At the end of this day students practice their Reiki on one another and are amazed to find they can feel the energy flowing through their hands. Students are then asked to practice using Reiki on themselves, friends, family, pets, plants until they feel comfortable and confident. I recommend a minimum of 2 months before they come back for the next stage.

Second Degree or Reiki Level 2 is the Practitioner level. The attunement 'ups the voltage' to use the kettle metaphor again. At this level you are also taught the 3 basic Reiki Symbols and how to use them, plus some other techniques. Someone with Reiki 2 is a qualified Reiki Practitioner and able to offer Reiki treatments for payment. They can get insurance as a therapist.

Many Holistic Therapists like to become Second Degree Reiki Practitioners as they find using the Reiki energies enhances whatever other treatments they are giving.

Third Degree, Reiki 3 or Reiki Master. At this level the ability to transfer energy is heightened again by another attunement. There are some more symbols and techniques to learn.

Master / Teacher A final days training is offered to third degree Reiki practitioners to enable them to teach other people this wonderful skill.

Learning Reiki will take you on a wonderful personal journey, whether you choose to just do level 1 or progress right through to Master / Teacher. Once you have done Reiki 1 you have the ability to do Reiki for the rest of your life. Even if you do not use your Reiki for many years a little practice will bring the skill back to you. Being able to do Reiki will improve your life in many ways, physically, spiritually and emotionally.

REIKI TRAINING

I offer regular Reiki Training days at all levels. These are usually run at my home in Wrexham, N. Wales, but I am prepared to travel to other areas if a small group of people who want to learn Reiki invite me.

As an experienced horsewoman I also offer Reiki for Horses training. This is best suited to people who have already done Reiki 1 and will include the Reiki 2 Attunement, but it can be done at Reiki 1 level. I am able to offer Reiki for Horses training days at a small yard in Chester, but again I can travel to offer this to people on their own yards.

REIKI TREATMENTS

I offer Reiki Treatments to clients in their own home within a 25 mile radius of Wrexham. I also do Reiki treatments for horses who will often find Reiki very therapeutic, relaxing and healing. It can be particularly useful for horses with emotional issues or to aid healing when they have been ill or undergone surgery.
